Robert Sorby 840 Excelsior High Performance Spindle Gouge

A Robert Sorby Excelsior High Performance Spindle Gouge is HSS coated in Titanium Nitride. This greatly reduces edge wear, increasing performance and the time between sharpening by at least a factor of 3.

The Robert Sorby Excelsior range of woodturning tools are one of my favorites. Really don’t know if they do last that much longer between sharping or if it’s just the colour. But I like them.

Robert Sorby would have done the tests so they really can’t claim that much longer between sharpenings unless they do.

You sharpen these tools as you would regular HSS tools.
