Robert Sorby ProEdge sharping System. Proberly the easest and fastest sharping system there is for woodturners.

With it’s jig system on the Proedge you will repeat the grind time and time again without effort.

Simple to use the Robert Sorby ProEdge makes the sharping of  gouges, scrapers and skews a simple tast, that a newby woodturner will be able to do in minutes.

Belt types.

There are five types of belts that you can fit to this sharpening system.

Aliminum Oxide this is the basic belt and can take away a lot of steel from your tools if over used.

The Zirconium belts are harder wearing than Aliminum Oxide so the belts last longer, but are still quite aggressive on the steel of your tools.

Ceramic these belts last longer than Aliminum Oxide and the Zirconium. They run cooler and take lest steel. I would recommend these belts to be used on the Proedge for wood turning tools.

Trizact offer a much finder sharpen edge. Their grit range are 600, 1200 and 3000. In my opinion these give too fine an edge for woodturning tools but are ideal for sharpening knives.

Lastly the Diamond belt this is an investment but leaves your tools with a great cutting edge and lasts for years. I use one of these myself on my ProEdge.

The repackaged ProEdge is supplied machine only with one belt. You need to add the jig kit to suit your needs.
